Stay Itinerary and Details

You will be met at your hotel for complimentary transfer service to our air taxi at Lake Hood. Depart Anchorage at 9:00 am (departure time is customizable) for a scenic float-plane flight to Alyeska Hermitage Treehouse Cabine.

You will depart from Lake Hood, the world’s largest floatplane lake and land at Shell Hills, the location by the historic Iditarod trail. Shell Hills is situated northwest of Anchorage, the trip is approximately 40 minutes by air. There are opportunities to see Mount McKinley enroute.

Canoe or kayak around Skwentna River or Ownestone Lake
Extended hike to Canyon Lake
Fly Fishing for red salmon and arctic grayling
Take a herbal sauna or hot tub with panorama view

Luncheon is served at 1:00 pm in the main room. After lunch, take a tour of neighboring waters and possibly some fishing in a nearby stream. At the lodge, join us for a stretch class, garden tour, or leisurely walk along the Iditarod Trail. In the late afternoon, join in our cuisine art with Francis – wine tasting in the main lodge bar area, and dinner at 7:00 pm. After dinner, there is an evening education program on Alaska in the wellness room or fly-casting lessons on the Skwentna River.

Early morning gentle sauna at 7:00 am (optional, of course). Breakfast is served at 8:00 am. After breakfast, meet your guide for a day-long adventure outing to Canyon Creek for salmon fishing.

Or float down our nearby trophy rainbow trout river for the day. Enjoy fly-fishing, wild life viewing and some hiking. In the afternoon, you may like lunch on the river or back at the lodge – your choice. End your day of adventure with a nice soak in the hot tub and a dip in the river.

Join the morning sauna in our beautiful wellness room with views of the surrounding Tordrillo Mountains. Breakfast is served at 8 am.
Today, perhaps enjoy a leisurely hike to the foot of the Dickason Mountain or, for our more adventurous guests, trek all the way to the peak of the mountain for stunning views of Denali and Hayes glaciers and our entire valley.
Enjoy a gourmet lunch at the lodge served at 1:00pm – homemade snacks are available at all times. Dinner is served in the main lodge at 7:00 pm early evening activities are available.

After breakfast, will you return to Anchorage via floatplane arriving at 10:00 am. We will provide transportation to your Anchorage hotel or airport.

DEPOSIT AND TERMS OF CANCELLATION – A deposit equal to 30% of services reserved is due at the time of booking, with the balance due 45 days prior to your first day of travel. The following change and cancellation fees apply. Between 45 to 31 days prior to your first day of travel a 10% cancel/change fee will apply. Between 30 to 15 days prior to your first day of travel a 50% cancel/change fee will apply. Within 14 days of travel, your package is non-refundable and non-changeable. Because we cannot make exceptions to our cancellation or change policies for any reason, including family and medical emergencies, we STRONGLY encourage you to purchase travel insurance.
